The 5th Annual Team O’Brien Golf Tournament, taking place at the Riverton Country Club, will consist of 18 holes of golf followed by a cocktail hour and dinner. Proceeds will benefit the T. Brennan O’Brien III Adrenocortical Cancer Research Fund at Roger Cancer Center at University of Michigan.
Team O’Brien came together in 2016 during Brennan O’Brien’s battle with adrenocortical carcinoma. For his 30th birthday Brennan asked his family and friends to support him in a Cycle for Survival ride to raise money for rare cancer research. He wanted to help others also on a devasting rare cancer journey and was the featured patient speaker at that event on February 26, 2016. Brennan recognized that rare cancer research is drastically underfunded.
Team O’Brien Foundation, Inc., was formed to continue supporting those on the front lines of rare cancer research and evolving treatments. Today, its mission is to advance rare cancer research and improve outcomes for patients worldwide and its premier annual fundraiser is the Team O’Brien Golf Outing.
