ESEF is just around the corner, are you ready? Make the process simple and stress-free by working one-on-one with a local iXBRL expert from Toppan Merrill.
Beginning January 1, 2021, the ESEF mandate requires all issuers on regulated markets within the EU and European Economic Area to submit Annual Financial Reports (AFR) in the European Single Electronic Format. Issuers must prepare their AFR in xHTML and, in the case of IFRS consolidated financial statements, include iXBRL (Inline XBRL) tags for the primary financial statements.
Here are some key takeaways from Bartek Czajka, Director of XBRL Consulting—read his complete thoughts on the Toppan Merrill blog.
The mandate began with the European Parliament’s goal to create a “single digital market” that is machine-readable and more easily discoverable, bringing EU capital markets into the digital information age. The European Single Electronic Format is the result.
